I wasn’t sure what I wanted this post to be about. I was going to talk about all the cool items I saw, but you can see those in the photos. So, I decided to write about the overall impact Rancho Obi-Wan had on me.
My first memory of Star Wars was watching The Empire Strikes Back on VHS and Star Wars: The Battle For Endor on TV. Back then, I didn’t realize the lasting effect Star Wars would have on my life. I have been a fan of Star Wars for 30 years! I would love to have the prequels erased from my memory if possible.
While on the tour, I was in awe thinking about the history on the shelves. Not just the history of the items themselves, but stories told by the person or persons who once owned those items. Each person has their own intimate story about their favorite Star Wars item. Whether it be a Luke Skywalker action figure, an R2-D2 cookie jar or a piece of cloth from Qui Gon’s robe, every story is personal. Every story is different. Every story spans generations. I can now takes those stories and add them to mine, to pass on to the next generation of Star Wars fans.
I would like to thank Steve and Anne for sharing their stories about the Star Wars universe we all love.
If you are a Star Wars fans, you should definitely make your way to Rancho Obi-Wan – https://www.ranchoobiwan.org/
