Let’s Talk About Avengers 4 (Contains Avengers: Infinity War Spoilers)

Infinity War was a great culmination of the previous 18 MCU movies. Wait, not ‘great’…EPIC! It’s pretty obvious by now that people love the movie. Just go see it! While the movie doesn’t make my Top 5 MCU Movies, I’ll definitely have to make space for Infinity War in my Top 10.

Instead of doing a review, I want to talk about what may happen in the next movies Captain Marvel and Avenger 4.

It looks like Avengers: Infinity War is a mash-up of the ‘Infinity Gauntlet‘ and ‘Infinity’ stories from the comics. Infinity Gauntlet is about Thanos creating the Infinity Gauntlet and the heroes trying to stop him and Infinity is about Thanos and the Black Order invading Earth while the Avengers are out in space fighting the Beyonders. The invasion of Earth and the battle in Wakanda are taken from the Infinity event in the comics, while the rest of the movie takes elements from the Infinity Gauntlet event.

Captain Marvel and Introducing Other Alien Races

Brie Larson as Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel

First let’s start with Captain Marvel who was teased in the end credit scene in Avengers: Infinity War. Captain Marvel is a character who, in the comics, got her powers from a Kree warrior by the name of Mar-Vell. You may remember the Kree from Agents of Shield and Guardians of the Galaxy 1. Well, the Kree will again show up in the Captain Marvel movie, which takes place in the 1990’s, way before the events of Iron Man. I feel this will, on a grander scale, introduce the Kree and possibly other alien races to the MCU. With the reintroduction of the Kree, we’ll have a new player in the fight against Thanos. Thanos has wiped out half the beings in the known universe and that will definitely raise the alarm for the other races out there and have them scrambling to find out what the hell happened. Which could lead to a large scale intergalactic confrontation? I believe we will definitely get to see the Kree and possibly Adam Warlock

Introducing Adam Warlock in Avengers 4

Adam Warlock with the Infinity Gauntlet

I’m throwing Adam Warlock out there as possibly being in Avengers 4. Ayeesha is still pissed from the events of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and now half her world’s population is gone she’s really out for revenge. The champion for her people is Adam Warlock. Chances are he wouldn’t have been affected by Thanos’s use of the Infinity Gauntlet since he either had not been ‘born’ at that moment or he doesn’t have a soul. Not having a soul means you can’t be affected by the Soul Stone, almost like how Adam, in the comics, had a link with the Soul Gem, which helped in defeating Thanos. Adam’s link to the soul gem allowed him to bring back heroes that were trapped in the gem to battle Thanos one last time and they were able to take the Infinity Gauntlet away from Thanos and Adam was able to undo everything that Thanos had done.

The Return and Death of the Heroes

So we can pretty much expect most of the heroes that were “killed” in Avengers: Infinity War to return at some point, in the next movie. Like someone pointed out online, the heroes that disappeared when Thanos used the Infinity Gauntlet, all have sequels coming for their respective characters, so of course, they will be back. What I hope is that some of those deaths actually stick.

Someone will have to die and stay dead if Marvel wants any of this to have any real ramifications for the future Marvel movies. My money is on Tony or Steve dying since both actor’s contracts are up after Avengers 4. Since contracts are expiring for some of the actors, someone is going to meet a permanent death.

Since there is no information on Avengers 4, all of this is just speculation. So what do you guys think will happen in Avengers 4? Find us on Twitter @geekswithforks and let us know!
